Story: Tough Girls Use Tough Gear
Trine and Rikke from Hunt & Hike embody the transition in my professional life.
Trine and Rikke are two of the toughest girls I have ever met. And they have been with me every step of the way in Kümler Handcrafted – as well as in my previous company.
They approached me in their early twenties with an idea for a logo for a company they wanted to start. It was to be called Hunt & Hike, and their vision was to guide hunting guests on fine hunts all over the world. We worked on the concepts and arrived at the design that is now their logo.
With my many years of background in the advertising industry, I could already see back then that these two girls had “substance”. And I knew that – at some point – they would earn a spot here on the website as a great story.
The reason for that is simple: they ARE a great story. They are red-haired twins, but most importantly, they are exceptionally well-trained in the hunting craft and incredibly skilled at guiding hunting guests. It doesn’t bother them one bit to haul a black bear down a mountain in North America or field-dress a massive bull moose in the heavy brush further north.
At the same time, they have the perfect mindset for hunting: it must be an unforgettable experience for the clients. Whether it takes place in North America, Sweden – and now also in Africa. They have successfully built a fine business on that very foundation.
Helping each other get started
When I decided to shift from the advertising industry to the craftsmanship of Kümler Handcrafted, the leatherwork was my primary incentive. Meanwhile, the girls were struggling with the durability of their gear in the demanding, harsh terrain of their moose and bear hunts. The gear simply couldn’t withstand the abuse. So, we had a dialogue about their needs, and over time, I developed a set of gear tailored to stand up to the challenges. I chose to sponsor this gear to help them get off to a good start – and to test the equipment in “real-life” conditions. A true win-win!
The Equipment / The Gear:
They received new wet-molded sheaths for their Leatherman and Havalon tools made from heavy-duty leather, custom ammunition wallets (so they wouldn’t have to fumble through their pockets for cartridges ;-)), and a dedicated holder for their “panic button” (satellite messenger) which all wilderness guides over there are equipped with. Everything was mounted on a solid belt – featuring their beautiful logo beautifully stamped on the back, of course.
The equipment undergoes an annual inspection and is still in top-notch shape after more than 5 years in the field.

The New Hosts of the Danish Hunting TV-Show “Nak & Æd”
In the spring of 2026, Trine and Rikke signed an agreement with the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) to take over as hosts of the wildly popular TV show Nak & Æd.
I am absolutely certain that if DR hits the right angle, you are looking at two brand-new hunting darlings in Denmark.
Congratulations on the job, and – Shoot straight and be safe – with everything! 😉
