Passion for more than 30 years
With over 30 years of experience in graphic design, we specialize in creating unique and custom leather goods that are truly one-of-a-kind. From handpainted designs to airbrushed patterns, our expertise in leather craftsmanship allows us to create bespoke pieces that are both stylish and functional.

    Logos
One of the key features of our designs is the ability to incorporate logos or patterns into the leather. If you have a specific logo or pattern in mind, we can bring it to life on your chosen leather item. This customization option adds a personal touch and makes your leather goods truly unique.

    Handpainting leather
One of the techniques we use in our designs is handpainting leather. This allows us to create intricate and detailed designs or backgrounds on the leather, adding a touch of artistry to each piece. The handpainting process ensures that no two items are exactly alike, making your leather goods truly one-of-a-kind.

    Airbrushing
In addition to handpainting, we also offer airbrushing as a design option. This technique allows for more complex and vibrant designs, giving your leather goods a bold and eye-catching look. Whether you prefer a subtle pattern or a bold statement, airbrushing can bring your vision to life.

    Passion for design
When you choose Kümler Handcrafted leather goods, you’re not just getting a stylish accessory, but also a piece of art. Each customized item is a testament to our years of experience and passion for design. We take pride in creating leather goods that not only look great but also stand the test of time.

    The principles of airbrushing

    Foil template

A foil with the desired image outlines is cut from a image design generated in appropriate softwares.

    Picking up the foil

The foil is mounted on the custom coloured leather, and the areas to receive colour from the airbrush is carefully removed.

    Airbrushing

Making sure all surroundings are carefully shielded, the colour is applied with the airbrush.

    Finished work

After thorough drying, the foil is removed and the artwork will appear crisp and clear.

    Motives

With this technique it's possible to add motives to leather.

    Wallet

In this example a falcon icon is airbrushed onto the leather on the front.

    Contrast

If you want the motive to appear crisp and clear or with some kind of background, we will do that.

    Faded

It's also possible to fade the image to a more discreet expression.

    Handpainted leather

    Add a title or tagline

If it's not possible to find leather in a specific pattern or colour, the alternative is to handpaint full grain leather. Often this methos is used, if different types of leather have to colour match in the same piece of leather work.

different leather types come in different colours

The underlying colour of fresh vegetable tanned full grain leather can vary a lot depending on the character of the hide. That is a challenge, if you want to create a set of leatherwork, where the colours have to match.

Two leather types look the same

In this case a utility belt made from heavy bridle leather had to match mouldable hard pressed leather used for sheaths for a Leatherman and a Havalon. Both are hand coloured to match. This often takes some teste to be perfected.

    The finished product

The finished utility belt with handpainted elements handcoloured to match eachother.
